History
Jesus Riojas was proud to have served in the U.S. Army and as
part of the 70th Infantry Division. He began his training in IRTC/Camp Fannin,
TX and then joined the 70th ID. My dad was seriously injured on March 7th, 1945
in Styring-Wendel, Germany. He convalesced in military hospitals in Europe and
at Fort Sam Houston, TX. After being released he went to work at Kelly AFB, TX
in special weapons, where he retired in 1977. Jesse, as he was known, was
married to Mary for 48 years and had three children and four grandchildren
together. He was a loving, dear old dad and grandfather who loved his family,
God, and country. Dad passed away in August 2003 and was buried at Fort Sam
Houston National Cemetery with military honors. He left us many wonderful
memories, a military legacy, and his belief in God Almighty. We, his family, are
grateful and blessed to have had him in our lives. We cherish him in our hearts
forever.
