Bio
Wounded 3/15/45. Spent 12 1/2 months in various Army hospitals in France and the U.S.A.
Discharged from O'Reilly General Hospital, Springfield, MO (my home town) on 3/30/46.
During my six months in O'Reilly Hospital I met a young lady who was stationed there, and
we became engaged to be married. Following discharge I enrolled in the pre-medical program
at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. My fiancee and I were then married. In 1953
I received my M.D. degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. I served
one year of internship and four years of residency, and in 1958 I became a diplomate of
The American Board of Radiology. My wife and I were blessed with three children, two of
whom have died in the last 18 months. My wife also died, in 1970. I later married my
current wife, who had four children at that time. She also lost her younger son very
recently. Most of my years in practice were spent in California and Missouri, the last
eight years of which were spent here in my home town of Springfied, MO. I learned of, and
joined, the 70th Div. Assn. in 1984. The next year, 1985, I retired, and we took our first
of five wonderful trips back to France and Germany with Floyd Freeman and dozens of 70th
Division people, all of whom we cherish as the best of our friends.
