Bio
After leaving the 70th Inf. Div., I served in the Army Of Occupation in Berlin with the
78th Inf, Div. through March 1946, then was discharged from Ft. Bliss, Texas, April 1946.
I returned to my home town, Glendale, California. Dorothy and I were married in November
1946. We had five children (three living) and nine grandchildren. I returned to College on
the GI Bill and received a Degree in Accounting from Loyola University in 1949. In the
fall of 1950 old Uncle Sam poked that finger at me again and I served another two and a
half years as an Army Finance Officer. After the Korean War, we made our home in Modesto,
California where I established and was the Managing Partner of a CPA firm. Retired in
1985. Throughout the years I have been active in Church related organizations,
professional organizations and civic activities including: Grand Knight and District
Deputy - Knights Of Columbus President - Sierra Club of Modesto President - San Joaquin
Chapter, Calif. Society of CPAs President - Estate Planning Council Member - Rotary,
American Legion, VFW, 70th Inf. Div. Assoc., American Inst. of CPAs Sportsmen of
Stanislaus and Retired Seniors. Served on School Board, Parish Councils, and on the
1967-68 Fed Grand Jury, and various School and Civic Committees In my retirement, I
frequently deliver talks to Service Clubs and Schools on the subject of Combat Infantrymen
