Replace Your Missing Medals The
Army will replace missing or medals not received, and medals over 15 years at no charge. The
request is made through one of your U.S. Senators or your U.S. Representative
who in turn forwards it to Dept. of Army. It takes about 90 days to get the set
of the awards and decorations from Army from the time your congressperson sends
a copy of your request to Army. Your relative's name would be engraved by Army
on the back of each of his or her medals.
Please note the following:
1. To get a relative's awards and decorations, it must be a blood relative
(Uncles, aunts, cousins and in-laws do not qualify).
2. The requester can send a request to his or her congressperson or senator, or
ask Jim Hanson to do it for you. If you ask Mr. Hanson do it, you should
provide him a copy of discharge papers or the Army Serial Number and the name
of the Senator or Representative to whom they would like to have the awards and
decorations request sent.
3.
