1.Enemy.

a. Units in contact: Ist and IIIrd Bns., 12th SS Mtn Inf, with White Bn, 361st VG Div, 952d VG Regt (5th Co 14th Co) 257th VG Div, 477th VG Regt, (1st Co, 8th Co)

b. Enemy reserves that can affect our situation: Unknown.

c. Enemy Activities: White Bn: Counterattack launched against Wingen 1525 was contained by 1700. Blue Bn: Small patrols active until 0530.

d. Morale in both sectors considered to be low due to lack of supplies, food and ammunition. Conflicting orders in Wingen sector are producing confusion.

e. Enemy in Wingen is capable of withdrawing or of staying and fighting to the last man. Either capability may be put into effect immediately. Neither plan will have any material affect on our mission.

Blue: Enemy is capable of coming in force down draws in vicinity of grid squares 82-37, 83-37, 82-36. Also capable of harassing patrols, laying mine fields of both AT and AP types.

The nature of the terrain offers the enemy all possibilities at his convenience. Any attack in force and coordinated with Armor and Arty would be a serious threat to our operations.

Eight PW’s captured by Blue Bn. 5 PW’s by Co. I 3 PW’s by Co. L.

d. Third Battalion: Consolidated positions North of Rothbach. Active patrolling contacting 2d Bn. 276th Inf. No enemy contact. Third Battalion: In contact with the enemy in the village of Wingen during entire period.

f. Maintained defense of Rothbach; engaged in operations at Wingen.

4.ADMINSTRATIVE

a. Strength: Present for duty – 2792; Officers Strength: 142; Warrant Officers Strength: 4; Replacements needed: EM 257; Officers 9: WO’s 1.

b. Casualties: 40 EM; 6 Officers

c. Prisoners captured: Eight (8) plus those prisoners captured by 2d Bn, processed by 276th—total number not known at this time.

d. Evacuation: Normal.

e. Location of Supply: No change.

f. Status of Supply:
(1) Rations on hand: 1 1/3 days B Rations
1/3 days C Rations
1 1/3 K Rations
1 day “10 in 1” Rations

(2) Ammunition on hand: 1 1/2 units of fire.
