The following comes from the Summer 1998 issue of the
Trailblazer, p. 17. It was written by Eugene Regan and is the
itinerary of B/725. Drawing is by Pete "Tex" Bennet.

DECEMBER 20, 1944
Left Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri by train.
DECEMBER 22, 1944
Arrived Camp Miles Standish near Taunton, Massachusetts.
JANUARY 7, 1945
Moved by train to the Boston Harbor and boarded the USS Mariposa.
JANUARY 8, 1945
Sailed from Boston. Battery pulled KP duty the entire trip. We sailed
toward Bermuda and then through the Straits of Gilbralter to the port
of Marseilles, France.
JANUARY 18,1945
Arrived Marseilles, France. After standing on the pier all day we were
transported by open semi-trailer truck to a plateau near the town of Dux.
FEBRUARY 4,1945
Left Marseilles by train in forty eight cars.
FEBRUARY 6,1945
Arrived Henriville, France. Set up guns outside of town in rain and mud.
Target area Forbach.
FEBRUARY 7,1945
Fired first round in combat.
FEBRUARY 13,1945
Moved to Ebring, France. (Drive for Forbach. Credited with one German
tank knocked out during counter attack.)
FEBRUARY 23, 1945
Moved to the vicinity of Bousbach. (Drive for Stiring Wendel and
Spicheren Heights.) Received incoming artillery fire near mess
truck. No casualties.
MARCH 13,1945
Moved into town of Bousbach.
MARCH 20,1945
Moved up to Gersweiller, Germany overlooking Saarbrucken.
MARCH 25,1945
Moved into Hutchenhausen, Germany. German planes strafed Allied
convoy on the highway at edge of town.
MARCH 31,1945
Moved to Rudesheim (near Bad Kreusnach) guarding supply highway.
Transferred into 3rd Army.
APRIL 10, 1945
Moved into Wallertheim, German Guarded P.W. cage in open field.
APRIL 18,1945
Moved across the Rhine to Obe Machstadt.
MAY 3,1945
Moved to Nudlingen (near Bad Kissingen). May 8, at 2:41a.m.Germany
surrendered. May 8, captured German plane and pilot.
MAY 9,1945
Moved into Altengronau.
MAY 11, 1945
Moved to Schielerbach (40 km from Frankfurt).
JUNE 1, 1945
Moved into Bad Orb. Guarded Stalag 9B. Lived in Seibel Hotel. Unit
starting to break up.
AUGUST 10, 1945
Moved to Dauborn, Germany. Turned in the howitzers. Japan surrenders.
AUGUST 22,1945
Transferred to "A" Battery, 9th FA. Bn. Third Division at Lauterbach, Germany.
